This non-profit’s mission is to “Inspire curiosity and caring for birds and nature, in and out of the classroom.” To carry this mission out, Tracy Aviary needed to replace their outdated website with one that felt as modern and interactive as their world-class facility.
This project gave us the opportunity to get to know the aviary staff. These passionate animal enthusiasts work tirelessly to make sure that Tracy’s exceptional programs continue to exist in Utah. Taking all of their hopes and dreams to find the best solution for renovating their website was not only a fun challenge, but an honor.
Our teams sat down together and drew up an outline for the project that helped both sides understand the aspirations for the website within the budget of a non-profit. For an organization with an earnest mission that needed to work within certain limits, we were able to find the perfect balance for everyone involved.
We created a website tailored for families and students that was clean, responsive and easy to navigate. Our photography, custom illustrations and interactive design gave the site charisma and color. Original content combined with skillful interaction design and development created a rich and inviting experience for Tracy Aviary’s visitors.
By using Squarespace as our content management system (CMS), the new website was not just user-friendly for visitors, but also for the passionate and hard working team at Tracy. Creating events, adding new posts and editing content was now easy for the staff, making the website effortless to update and maintain.
Months after we stepped out of the aviary, we returned and were delighted to see how the aviary had utilized the tools we had given them. From brochures to signage, the aviary adapted our illustrations to be used throughout the aviary itself, creating a fun and consistent feel from online to in person. Knowing that some of the fun interactions we had created were also being experienced beyond the website was a huge compliment to our team on a job well done.
