The opportunity

One Small Miracle, an Utah-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting service and hospitality workers in times of need, recognized the need to elevate its brand and online presence. While they had a website, it no longer accurately reflected their growth, impact, and the professional organization they had become. They sought to create a more streamlined, impactful, and user-friendly website that would serve as a powerful tool for fundraising, partner engagement, and beneficiary outreach. One Small Miracle also aimed to refine its brand identity to better communicate its mission and values, while still honoring its existing brand equity.

The challenge

Underbelly Creative was tasked with designing and developing a new website that would simplify the user experience for both potential partners and beneficiaries. The site needed to clearly showcase One Small Miracle's mission, impact (including statistics on funds distributed and individuals helped), and application process. Additionally, the organization needed a brand refresh that would modernize its look while retaining key elements like its logo's "phoenix rising from the ashes" symbolism and core colors (gold, charcoal, and black). Content creation, including custom photography and videography, was also essential to tell the stories of those One Small Miracle supports and create an emotional connection with the audience.

Our approach

Underbelly Creative took a collaborative approach, starting with a deep dive into One Small Miracle's history, goals, and target audience. We conducted a thorough audit of their existing website and brand, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement. Through a series of meetings and workshops, we worked closely with their team to understand their vision and align on key objectives. Our design process involved creating wireframes and mockups, which were refined based on client feedback. We developed a website on the Webflow platform, allowing for a user-friendly experience and easy content management. For the brand refresh, we presented several logo options, ultimately landing on a refined version of their existing logo that honored its origins while providing a more modern and professional aesthetic. We also created a comprehensive photo and video shot list, capturing authentic moments with service industry workers and creating compelling testimonial videos.

Our Results

The newly launched website and refreshed brand for One Small Miracle represent a significant step forward for the organization. The website now provides a clear, concise, and engaging experience for visitors, with streamlined navigation, impactful visuals, and easy access to key information. The site effectively highlights One Small Miracle's mission, impact, and application process, making it a powerful tool for donor engagement and beneficiary support. The brand refresh has given One Small Miracle a more professional and modern identity, while still retaining the core elements that resonate with their community. The custom photography and videography beautifully capture the human element of their work, creating an emotional connection and telling the stories of those they serve. The project has empowered One Small Miracle to move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and impact, as they continue their vital work in the Utah service industry.
